Chickamauga was the greatest battle fought in the Western theatre of the American Civil War. This year at Phalanx we refought the entire two day battle. 123,000 men on a figure ratio of approximately 1:60 would be involved. Day one was played in the morning and day two after lunch. This is a shot of both sides just before kick off.

Can you believe that even with all our players wearing these rather noticeable T-shirts, and our large posters of the rules, someone actually asked the question What battle was this and what war was it? We told him it was a WWII naval battle!

Braxton Bragg actually won this battle and he didn't know it, allowing the beaten Union forces to retire and regroup. The game followed the historical result - but only just. Note the western style rebel flags - makes a change from the Army of Northern Virginia.
